Aida and her sisters came out of the blue. Nobody knew about their existence until her sister, Brienne, sneaked away from the hiding place and got close to the food in her belief that nobody sees her - as she was taught by her mother. They were about a month-and-something and, obviously, their mother's milk wasn't enough for them anymore. They were all very wild and frightened, probably because they have never seen people or animals before. Dear Amelie, the mom, did her best to keep them hid and safe, but her mistake was to feed them exactly where they wanted, even if that place was the garden of some people well-known as cat haters. Eventually, all of them were caught and stayed in foster for a couple of days and then they came to us.
Aida used to be friendly some time ago. Not like her sister Brienne, but we could pet her and get close to her. After they have grown a little, they were allowed with the other cats and then, something changed. Aida became very shy, constantly running away from us. Truth is, vaccines and periodical deworming, as well as spaying procedure, did not help her overcome her fears. As she probably sees it, we are the enemy, the ones taking her to the vet... However, Aida is a very beautiful girl, curious and maybe, with the right human, her very own guardian, she would change back to how she used to be, if not change to a whole different, loving and sweet cat - as we have seen that happen before, not once. As most shy cats, she needs peace, a warm home and loving people to understand her completely. We are sure of two things: that she needs time to adjust and that she can be a sweet darling again. For them, the shelter must not remain the only home they will ever know. For them, the shy ones, a shelter will never be able to fulfill their needs and wishes. For them, the only chance to have a real, happy life is to go home, to be given the chance to turn into butterflies...
