Cookie

I was born on: 24th March 2016

I came here: March 2016

I like: new things

I don’t like to: trust you, so that you betray me again

I found my forever home: not yet…

It was a rainy, windy, cold day in March 2016… We got an email saying there are 3 kittens and their mom, in a cardboard box, just near the river bank. There were plates around, so someone did care about them, but not enough to take them in and offer them a roof.

We had an empty room at that time, still at the old place we had, so two volunteers went there and took this amazing family to warmth, good food, safety and care. The kittens – Kino, Viggo and their sister, Cookie – were absolutely adorable, with their eyes still shut and always searching for their mom. And their mom… such a beauty! A tormented soul as we later found out – because the year before having these 3 wonderful kittens, she was beaten by people in the neighborhood when they saw she was pregnant and she lost her first litter of kittens. Still, she had the courage to trust us…

All three of them grew beautifully under our eyes, strong and healthy. They had the love of their amazing mom as well as ours. Soon they started walking, playing, enjoying their kittenhood without any worries in the world. They all got close to us, except one: Cookie… She was careful when we were around, usually looking at us from a distance. We did try to make her understand that all we want is cuddles, but she gently refused us, even as a kitten. She was just watching while her two brothers enjoyed our attention and didn’t want to get closer. And all the pills we had to give, the relocation, the new place, certainly didn’t help her open up.

Cookie is a very beautiful and playful young lady, who never had the chance to go home when she was a kitten. It would have been different if she had… She loves meat, all kinds of new food, she is curious and likes to play with her roommates but still keeps her distance from people. We’re sure that the life in the shelter will only make her more shy, it already has, and we really wouldn’t want that for our sweetheart… Our darling Cookie deserves a home of her own and an understanding family, so she can really get the chance to trust people and see that a cat’s life can be amazing if she cuddles, is loved and spoiled beyond belief. So this is what we’re looking for our gorgeous miss: a place she can call HOME and kind-hearted human parents to help her become a truly happy cat!

Adopting a cat from our shelter can only be done through an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions imposed by the Friends of Cats Association are easy to meet when the person who wants to adopt is a responsible human being and really loves cats.

Thank you!
