I was born on: 29th March 2016
I came here: December 2016
I like to: play
I don’t like: you to get too close, I don’t know you…
I found my forever home: yessssssssssss
This extremely cute and irresistible guy was found last year, in a very busy area of the town. He somehow managed to get to a newly built overpass without being hit by cars and stayed there completely terrified. He would have probably attempted to go even further but he was spotted by two of our volunteers who pulled over and took him to their home. The little guy was extremely skinny, frightened and full of fleas. After a bath and a good meal, he could finally allow himself to get some rest, far away from danger.
He grew to be a gorgeous boy and because of his funny face and ears, he got the name Bunny. It suits him well also because he is a shy guy even to this day, like a little bunny. The heart of a lion is in there somewhere, we’re sure of that, he just needs the perfect family and the perfect environment to let it surface. Bunny has been a playful guy since his third day in the shelter: when people were not around, you could see him play with everything and anything he could find. However, it took him some weeks to allow us to at least touch him. He has made great progress, he now plays when we’re around too, is among the first to come and greet you, but he is still not entirely over his fears. The key to his heart is good food, toys, lots of patience and love; and if someone is willing to give him that, he’ll get close and rub against your feet – as you can see here https://youtu.be/LahPywe2QOw if you look attentively, you’ll notice that there is a plate of food nearby, so it’s definitely not the hunger that made him ask for attention. He loves being scratched just above the tail, he would like to get close to people, but his trust is not complete yet…
We are aware that he is not an “easy cat”, one who cuddles and comes to you in the first weeks. Still, Bunny is looking for a home of his own, a nice, very patient family who could give him the time and affection he needs. He has been through a lot in his short life, we cannot even imagine what was in his little kitten heart when he crossed that road… But we like to dream and hope that his true rescuer will come along one day and take away his fears, make him trust people again and give him what we cannot: a forever home. Until then, we are doing the very best we can and enjoy his presence among us. How could we not, when Bunny is so easy to love?
Adopting a cat from our shelter can only be done through an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions imposed by the Friends of Cats Association are easy to meet when the person who wants to adopt is a responsible human being and really loves cats.
